Integrated Private Debt (IPD) was founded in 1987 as First Treasury and acquired by IAM in 2000. In late 2004, IPD closed Canada’s first investment grade senior private corporate debt fund, IPD LP I, raising $ 600 million. In the first quarter of 2008, IPD closed Canada's second investment grade senior private corporate debt fund, raising a further $425 million. Today, IPD is Canada’s largest independent provider of investment grade senior private debt. The seasoned professional team has made more than $2 billion in senior private placement loans.
To borrowers, IPD is an alternative to traditional sources of debt capital, standing between the public bond market and the bank loan market. IPD is not an agent, loans are funded directly by IPD. As a participant in large private placement transactions or as a sole provider of fixed rate, fixed term debt capital, IPD underwrites, structures, funds and manages every transaction.
The uses of IPD debt are broad and diverse, including debt financing for company expansion, non-recourse funding through project financing and growth capital for mergers and acquisitions
For investors, the IPD funds represent an attractive source of diversification and current monthly income, with returns above the benchmark at a lower level of volatility.
Since its inception, IPD has originated, underwritten and managed more than 160 transactions with an aggregate value of close to $2 billion in senior loans.
With the investment program for IPD LP II well advanced, the team has now begun to accept subscriptions for IPD LP III.
